Sin is what separates us from God. When we choose what is unholy, unlike him, and ultimately destructive, we are sinning. The Bible tells us that everyone has sinned. But we don’t really need the Bible to tell us that, do we? We know when we’ve messed up, told the lie, did the thing.
God’s holiness, the fact that he is without error and absolutely perfect, demands holiness from us.
God’s love, his desire to be in a relationship with his precious creation, found a way to defeat the sin that keeps us from coming alive in Christ.
Sin destroys, tears down, diminishes, and ultimately kills. Just take a look around the world and see all the havoc sin has wreaked. Every evil thing that’s going on in the world around us is because of sin. God is on a mission to redeem all of creation to what he intended in the beginning. That involves restoring you to a right relationship with himself.
We need to be forgiven of our sin so we can be reconciled to God and live the life of abundance that God has prepared for us, instead of the death that Satan wants for us. Jesus didn’t come to condemn the world because of sin, but to save the world from sin.
