The Opportunity

Citizens Church is growing and making an impact in North Phoenix. We have a strong desire to do more in our community but we are stunted by our circumstance. We have stewarded a mobile space well, but are starting to feel the limitations of our temporary space for the size and needs of our community. Without a permanent space to call our home, the opportunity to continue to grow and minister to kids, students, and adults in our community all week long is diminished.

Building by The Numbers

  • $260,000 – Total construction budget
  • $200,000 – Total amount we need to raise
  • $60,000 – Landlord contributions
  • $150,000 – Temporary line of credit
  • $50,000 – Amount needed before 2018

  • 5.45% – Interest on I/O line of credit
  • 3 Years – Lease term with option to buy

The Answer

God has opened the doors to a non-traditional space this is conveniently located in the center of our community with high visibility, easy access, and a large daily traffic count, creating high exposure and awareness. It also has plenty of space for meeting, serving, and worship. With the support of our Conference, favorable negotiations with the property owners, and a partnership with a Spanish-immersion Montessori school, we have been uniquely positioned to enter into a 3 year lease-to-own agreement on a 12,000 square foot facility.

We know that the best thing we can do as a church is to impact the world to see more and more people become free and fulfilled as they become more like Jesus Christ. That’s we why say, “This is about Changing lives”. Our mission is to Reach Neighbors and Reveal Christ. And we know that the best place to see lives transformed is in the context of a healthy local church.

A space of our own will facilitate:

  • Leader and volunteer training workshops
  • Classes, groups, and social gatherings
  • Neighborhood partnerships and service projects
  • Worship services and prayer events
  • Community care and crisis response

All of this will allow our great team of leaders and volunteers will have more time and energy to pour into people. We see this building as a tool, as a blessing, as a sacred space that will allow us to see Phoenix transformed as people draw closer to Christ.

Budget Allocations

This is an estimated breakdown of where the money will be spent. Please note, we have a total budget of $260,000. However, the property owners are contributing $60,000 to Tenant Improvements, making our total need set at $200,000. The “other” category includes items such as: interior and exterior furnishings, drafting and engineering, legal and professional fees, marketing, signage, permits, and contingency.
